First of all, let's consider how to achieve the solution of the tasks set in this article using third-party software. To clean the PC from "garbage" and fix errors, there are special applications - optimizers. The most popular among them among users is CCleaner. On his example, we will consider the algorithm of actions.

To clean your PC from "garbage", run CCleaner and go to the section "Cleaning". In tabs Windows And "Applications" by checking and unchecking the checkboxes, specify which elements you want to process and which not. We strongly advise you to clear temporary files and browser cache. Set the rest of the settings to your liking. But if you are not very versed in them, you can leave the default checkbox positions. After that press "Analysis".

The data analysis procedure will begin, during which the program will determine which objects are to be deleted, according to the settings you set earlier.

After the analysis, CCleaner will display a list of items that will be cleaned and the amount of data to be deleted in them. Next click "Cleaning".

A dialog box will open warning you that the files will be removed from your computer. To confirm your actions to delete data, click OK.

The process of cleaning the system from "garbage" will start.

At the end of it, unnecessary files will be erased, which will free up space on the hard drive and reduce the amount of information processed by the processor. In the window that opens, you can view the list of objects that have been cleared, as well as the total amount of deleted information.
To correct errors, go to the section "Registry" CCleaner.

In the block "Registry Integrity" you can uncheck those elements that you do not want to check for errors. But without the need, we do not recommend doing this, since the analysis will not be complete. Click on the button "Finding Problems".

The search for errors in the registry will start. As they are detected, a list of faults is displayed in the program window.

After the analysis is completed, a list of problems will be generated. If you do not consider any of the elements of this list a real mistake, then uncheck the box to the left of it. But such a need is quite rare. Next press the button "To correct…".

A dialog box will open, prompting you to save a backup copy of your changes. We advise you to press the button "Yes"- if suddenly some entry from the registry is mistakenly deleted, you can always start the recovery. It is especially worth using this advice if you are not an advanced user, and at the previous stage did not have an understanding of what the items displayed in the list that will be deleted are responsible for.
Will open "Conductor", with which you need to go to the directory of the hard drive or removable media where you intend to store the backup. If you wish, you can change its default name to any other in the field "File name", but it is not necessary to do so. Next click on the button "Save".

In the next dialog box, click the button "Fix Marked".

The repair procedure will be performed. After finishing it, press the button "Close".

Returning to the main CCleaner window, click on the button again "Finding Problems".

If no problems are found after re-analysis, then the registry is completely cleared of errors. If problematic elements are displayed again in the window, the cleaning procedure must be carried out until there are none at all, adhering to the algorithm of actions described above.

Method 2: Using System Tools

You can also clean your computer of "garbage" and remove errors from the registry using system tools.

click "Start" and go to section "All programs".

Open catalog "Standard".

Next, go to the folder "Service".

Find the name of the utility in this directory "Disk Cleanup" and click on it.

You can run this cleaning application in a faster way, but then you have to remember one command. Dial Win+R and in the window that opens, type in the expression:

In the utility window that opens, select from the drop-down list "Disks" the letter of the partition you want to clear, and press OK.

The utility will start the scanning procedure for the possibility of releasing from the "garbage" of the disk partition that was selected in the previous window. This process can take from a few minutes to half an hour or more, depending on the power of your computer, so be prepared to wait.

After the scan is completed, a list of items available for deletion will be displayed in the window. Those that need to be freed from "garbage" are marked with a checkmark. The contents of some of them can be viewed by highlighting the corresponding element and clicking "View Files".

After that in "Explorer" The directory corresponding to the selected item will open. You will be able to view its content and determine its importance. Based on this, you can decide whether to clean this directory or not.

After you have checked the boxes next to the elements in the main window, to start the cleaning procedure, click OK.

If you want to clean up not only ordinary directories, but also system folders from "garbage", click on the button "Clean up system files". Naturally, this function is available only when processing the partition on which the OS is installed.

A window will open where you again need to select a drive. Since you need to clean up system files, select the exact partition on which the OS is installed.

Next, an analysis of the possibility of freeing the disk from "garbage" will be launched, already taking into account system directories.

After that, a list of items proposed for cleaning will be displayed. This time it will be longer than the previous one, since it also takes into account system directories, but most importantly, the total size of the deleted data will most likely also increase. That is, you can remove more unnecessary information. Check the boxes for those items that you think are reasonable to clear, and click OK.

A window will open where you need to confirm the action by clicking on the button "Delete Files".

The procedure for deleting "garbage" will start, during which all the items you have marked will be cleared of data.

After the end of this process, unnecessary files will be erased, which will free up space on the HDD and help your computer run faster.
